Play the hole backwards

The Right Approach

The great Jack Nicklaus said to play the hole backwards in your mind from green to tee. Using this method of course management you can avoid a tricky approach shot. If your short pitch shots often lie way off the mark, try leaving yourself with a full approach shot. Or, if you are more accurate from within 50 yards plan a strategy around this. Accuracy is the key to scoring, not distance.

The Top Takeaway
